Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I pay for registration using cash or cheque?

Watch Facebook and our website for in-person registration/payments at the Baseball Centre.  We accept Cash or cheque.

We encourage you to complete the registration online before coming in and select “pay offline”. If you are unable to do that, we can help you complete your registration at the centre.

You can also send payment by etransfer to 2005royals@gmail.com

2. When does the season start?
The 2026 season will start with practices May 4, 2026 (subject to the City of Windsor opening the diamonds).

3. When do we find out what team my child is on?
You will receive a call from your team coach usually the week before the season starts.

4. How do I choose the right level of baseball for my child?
Divisions are based on age. Sometimes parents want their child to play in a division different than the one based on their age.  That requires permission from the president of RMBA.

5. Can I ask for my child to be with a specific coach or other player?
RMBA will try to accommodate special requests made at the time of registration, but we are not always able to do so.

6. My child is 10 and has never played baseball before.  Is it too late to start?
No, it’s not too late!  We have new players joining at every level.  Our House l
League program includes players of varying skill levels.  We also have player development workouts available for all divisions.

7. What equipment does RMBA provide?
RMBA provides each player with a team hat and jersey.   There are team bats and helmets available.

 8. What will my child need to play baseball?
Players need grey baseball pants, baseball socks in team colours, glove, running shoes and protective cup.  Shorts are not allowed.

Some players wear baseball cleats (metal cleats not allowed).  Players may also choose to bring their own bats. Players are encouraged to get their own helmets.

Please label all equipment with your child’s name.

9. When will my child receive a uniform?
Your child will receive their team shirt and hat before their first scheduled game.

10. Could my child’s team change?
Yes.  Players can sometimes be moved from one team to another after the season starts to improve the competitive balance of the division or due to late registrations/withdrawals.

11. What if I have an issue with my child’s coach?
Speak to the convenor of the division.

12. What if it rains or looks like rain?
We want kids to play, so we cancel games and practices only when we have to due to weather or field conditions.

Game and practice cancellations are posted on our website, Facebook and/or Twitter starting in the late afternoon.  In questionable weather, keep checking because the cancellation may come late because of changing field conditions or weather forecast.   If lightning occurs during the game, the game is cancelled.

13. Will we make up games that are rained out?

We try to make up missed games if diamonds, coaches and players are available. Playoff games will be made up unless the result has no effect on the standings.

 14. When does the season end?
TBall runs until July 16 with a  Day of Champions party on July 24, 2026.

Other divisions have their Day of Champions on July 25, 2026.  Note that Pee Wee and Bantam Day of Champions dates may be adjusted to accommodate interlock schedule.

15. Will players have a Game Under The Lights?
Houseleague teams play a night game under the lights during the season, either at Riverside Baseball Park or the Miracle Diamond.

16. Does RMBA have a travel program?
Yes!  The Riverside Royals compete at the highest (AAA/AAAA/Elite) level in Ontario.  Tryouts are held in the Fall each year.  Check out the teams on our website.
